2006 Trespass Merlot
St. Helena, Napa Valley

This youthful Merlot will delight one’s senses.  The fruit is heady and rich with a nose full of maraschino cherries, baked blackberry crisp to the extent that it pushes into the overly ripe red fruit category.  These full nuances are enveloped by barrel aromas of clean vanillin and French oak barrel roast.  Soft acidity and a relaxed tannin structure pave the way for more delicate and plush red fruit on the palate.

The 2006 Merlot is a very balanced and polished wine that could easily be the finest offering of the varietal from Trespass yet.

Aged correctly, this wine will continue to improve for the next 5 to 7 years or longer.
