2006 Trespass “The Audition” Cabernet Sauvignon

A seductive 100% Cabernet Sauvignon sourced from a single block in our vineyard, selected for the intense flavors and complex structure of the fruit.
Greg used an entirely different approach for this wine. Truly handcrafted, starting with fermenting the wine in new French oak puncheons with the head removed, and punching down the cap literally by hand. The wine spent 30 months in oak and is a truly elegant wine.
Aromas of caramelized new oak, black cherries covered in chocolate, cassis and bacon. On the palate it’s luscious liquid velvet. It floods the palate with blackberries, currants and mocha flavors. Soft velvety tannins are balanced with the fruit, oak and acid to give the wine its unparalleled structure.
“The Audition” shows brilliance in its youth, yet has all of the right components to age and improve over time.
