2007 Trespass Intrigue
St. Helena, Napa Valley

This is a vivacious red blend that showcases its sweet fruit notes and enveloped with a wonderful, deep garnet color.  The fruit in the nose approaches with artificial red berries, dried currants, clove and spice rack, followed by sweet notes of tight grain French Oak deeper in the glass.  It is fun to follow the change of scents with more time being opened.

The palate has a flashy core of ripe red fruit and a volume that really speaks to the Merlot in there.  Supporting flavors from the Cabernet of crushed herbs and light minerality are embraced together with coating tannin and a direct mouth feel that certainly wouldn’t shy from a thick smoky pork chop or bacon wrapped quail breast.
