2010 Trespass Escapade
St. Helena, Napa Valley
The inaugural vintage of Escapade is an incredibly polished and smooth wine from the beginning of experiencing the aromatics to the ripe and rounded tannins that follow the back pallet. Amazingly deep, dark and concentrated profiles can result when co-fermenting two distinct varietals at harvest. Powerful, but restrained, this wine has the making to be a Napa Valley classic. With velvety cherry from the Cabernet and sweet spice nuances given to it by the Cabernet Franc, the two varietals really play well off of themselves.
Aged for 22 months in 100% new tight grain Taransaud French oak, there is a sophisticated underlying structure in this blend that will certainly age well to 2025 and possibly beyond.
