2012 Trespass Intrigue
St. Helena, Napa Valley
Intrigue is a large and voluptuous wine that works in the mouth like the feeling of cashmere. There is a clear presence of oak supporting generous aromatic wafts of red fruit accompanied with pleasing cotton candy and cherry confection. The nose opens up and evolves to show cloves and holiday spices. The palate enters in with a savory mouthful of dried currants to a generous mid palate gushing with typical black cherry and blackberry of the Cabernet with interesting nuances of French Oak derivatives including warm vanillin, toffee and caramels. The tannins in this wine are well managed and the finish of this very enjoyable Bordeaux blend lasts and lasts to a very nice taper.
