The color of this wine is absolutely beckoning! As in the past, the 2013 Trespass Estate fruit shows the “zero green” side of this noble variety.
Warm black cherry preserves, vanilla and oak derived toffees play up through the center of the glass to one of the most hedonistic of noses. While today drinking young, a huge mouth feel of cold steel, espresso bean and earthly terroir driven flavors flood over the palate. The sensation is massive and absolutely perfect for this varietal.
The finish is huge and the tannins are not overbearing whatsoever. The back of the palate finishes with a lovely coating and resonates for over a minute. This is a magical moment found only in the finest wines!
We believe cellared correctly, this wine will survive for 20 to 25 years without falter.
