2009 Trespass Rendezvous
St. Helena, Napa Valley

The nose of the 2009 Trespass Rendezvous is a complex blend of higher barrel tones with cherry candle, black pepper, earth, pie dough and vanillin.  At first, the nose is wound tight, but unravels very nicely in only a few moments’ time.  The palate follows suit with an abundance of fresh, bright flavors exaggerated by a chorus of youthful tannins.  Racy black cherry is the forefront to a large middle mouth feel.  Bringing up the rear of this wine and through on into the finish is a mélange of incredibly deep, black fruit flavors.  The wine has great cellar potential to go beyond what it is today.  — Kirk Venge
