2010 Trespass Rendezvous
St. Helena, Napa Valley

This wine is a tour de force in Bordeaux Left Bank style wine blends.  At 60% Cabernet Sauvignon and 40% Cabernet Franc the tasting experience begins as a journey through layers upon layers of complex red and black fruit, then on to deeper notes of toasty oak vanillin and white chocolate.  The palate is full throttle and luscious with ripe blue fruit, black currant, cassis, blackberry and a touch of soy and smoke.  The tannins are youthful but in balance with poignant acidity.  There is elegance and purity in this wine that will lend itself to long aging.  — Kirk Venge
